A 13-year-old boy died of a shotgun blast fired by a boy visiting his house in what appeared to be an accidental shooting, Whitman County Sheriff Brett J. Myers said.
The gun was one of a number of firearms in the house at the time of the shooting Saturday night, Myers said.
Two boys, 12 and 13, were visiting at the time and one apparently fired the fatal shot, he said.
The shooting was not believed to be intentional but details remained under investigation, the sheriff said Monday.
