Dock Worker Collapses On Boat

November 8, 2005

A man was working on Monday afternoon aboard a ship in dry dock at Harbor Island when he collapsed in a corridor and died.

According to firefighters, the man suffered a heart attack and collapsed on the 500-foot tellar Star.

The Seattle Fire Department's high-angle rescue team was the first department to respond to the call. They attempted to give the man C.P.R. but he was pronounced dead at the scene.

The identity of the man has not been released pending notification of his family.

It is unclear whether the worker's employer knew of the man's condition and had subjected him to work which was detrimental to his health condition.
