After spending almost four months at Harborview Medical Center in Seatlle for treatment of burns that covered more than half his body, a 4-year-old boy headed home on Thursday. The boy was burned badly while playing outside his Spokane home.
Alexander Brown and his friend Brian Ashmore were admitted to the Harborview Burn Unit last June after the boys sustained injuries caused by pouring gasoline on a slide in Spokane and sliding down.
They were both critically burned after the gasoline unexpectedly ignited, setting their clothes on fire.
As Alexander made his exit from the hospital, he was openly appreciative of the doctors and nurses who treated his injuries.
Brown's body is currently covered in red skin, but his doctor believe that the boy will make a full recovery.
According to his doctors, Brown will be able to resume a normal life of school and all the other things that children want to do.
Despite the doctor's predictions, his mother has expressed concerns that after the physical pain is gone, that other types of pain will remain or surface.
Brown's friend, Brian Ashmore, is still in treatment at Harborview, but his doctors believe that he will be ready for release within a month.
