A Lynnwood police motorcycle officer was injured after he collided with a delivery truck on Wednesday. The officer sustained a broken leg as well as collarbone.
It marked the second accident involving a Lynnwood motorcycle officer this week.
According to police, Officer Frazier Kennedy was headed west on 196th Street SW when a delivery truck, going the same direction, turned right at about 8 a.m.
Kennedy collided with the truck and he and his motorcycle was dragged about 30 feet, according to police.
He was admitted to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.
Police were able to get a statement from the truck driver, but the circumstances of the crash are still under investigation by Lynnwood police and the State Patrol.
Kennedy, 33, has been with the Lynnwood Police Department for more than five years. For more than two of those years, he has been part of the eight-person motorcycle unit.
Another officer, Stephen Showalter, 40, broke his leg and wrist Monday when he was struck by a car in the Redmond area while on his way to work.
