A 42-year-old man invited an acquaintance to his Seattle home for drinks on Tuesday, February 8, 2005. Apparently the guest, also age 42, arrived at the host's house and drank quickly, thereby becoming intoxicated.
The host shares his 13th Avenue South home with a 52-year-old male roommate and the older man's dog. The dog is apparently an Akita/Husky mix.
The intoxicated guest began playing with the dog, and at one point decided to kiss the dog. The dog responded by biting the guest on his left cheek. There was no information as to whether the dog had previously bitten any others. Additionally, it was not disclosed to whether the owner or the host knew of the dog's behavior or warned the guest of the propensity of the dog to bite him.
Officers and fire department officials responded to the incident and treated the guest's puncture wounds before sending him to Harborview Medical Center for more intensive care.
The dog's owner claims that the guest took some prescription medication from the house. However, officers did not find any medication on the guest when they loaded the guest into the ambulance. Officials stated that the man may have taken the drugs before being searched.
