14-Year-Old Girl Hurt in Science Lab
April 13, 2005
A Jason Lee Middle School student who was burned in a science lab accident Monday was released from a Seattle hospital Friday.
Kristen Dickson, 14, was discharged from Harborview Medical Center, hospital spokeswoman Susan Gregg-Hanson said. The Tacoma School District is investigating the accident.
So far, it appears the girl and another student were filling and testing alcohol burners. The girl's shirt caught on fire when they ignited one of the burners.
