A 35-year-old man was rushed to the hospital after being struck by a pickup while riding his bicycle this morning.
The accident occurred at about 7:30 a.m. at the intersection of 4th Avenue W and 112th Street SW, said a spokesman from the Snohomish County sheriff's office.
The man was riding his bicycle headed south on 4th Avenue when he was hit. The name of the driver has not been released but he we do know that he was a 51-year-old Everett man.
The impact sent the man flying off of his bicycle and onto the road. He sustained major head injuries because he was not wearing his safety helmet.
Rescue crews airlifted the man to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.
The crash is still under investigation by the sheriff's office.
