Two Car Collision Leaves Three Dead

November 15, 2005

The third victim killed in a two-car collision last weekend on the Key Peninsula has been identified as Trenton Edwards, 30, by the Pierce County Medical Examiner's Office.

The other two victims were identified on Tuesday by the medical examiner as Richard James Pierce, 41, of Lake Bay, and Kalinn Fitzgerald, 28.

Edwards was driving headed east on 144th Street near Wright Bliss Road at about 1:55 a.m. Sunday with Fitzgerald riding as his passenger.

They veered across the center line and crashed head-on into the car being driven by Pierce.

All three died at the scene.

A third car, driving not too far behind Edwards and Fitzgerald, stopped after the accident and called 911.

Pierce County sheriff's detectives are still investigating but they believe alcohol and speed played a role in causing the crash.
