Police have arrested a driver who was involved in a crash Wednesday morning in Shoreline, Washington that critically injured a teenage boy.
The 14-year-old boy was hit around 8:30 a.m. on north 175th Street, just west of Interstate 5.
A witness to the accident helped the police capture the suspect. Kasey Kenyon, who was on his way to his job said it appeared the victim was crossing against the light when he walked in front of the approaching vehicle.
The driver slammed on his brakes to stop. But after the collision, the driver continued and did not stop.
The accident happened at on North 175th Street in Shoreline, Washington. Police said the suspect was not the registered owner of the Old Cutlass he was driving, but the car was not stolen.
The victim was reportedly best friends with a girl killed a few years ago near the same intersection. The girl, Tia Townsend, died when she was hit in her way to school.
