Four-vehicle Crash Kills One, Injures Another
A four-vehicle crash left a Skagit County woman dead and a Bellingham man injured. The accident occurred just outside of Burlington on Tuesday morning.
One of the victims has been identified as Jo E. Lynn ell, 55, of Burlington.
Lynn ell was driving a 1997 GMC pickup truck when he collided with a semi-tractor on Highway 20. The accident occurred in the westbound lane at around 9 a.m.
The semi-tractor's driver, Kenneth B. Emetic, 34, of Spanaway, was headed east on Highway 20 when he veered across the lane and into the westbound lane.
Emetic first hit another semi-tractor being driven by Robert J. Hilverda, 37, of Lynden, but then continued on, hitting another vehicle. He sideswiped a car driven by James D. Dooley, 44, of Bellingham, but then ran into Lynnell.
Dooley was taken to the hospital where he was treated for minor injuries.
