Auto Accident Near Seattle Stops Traffic

April 14, 2005

An auto accident between a minivan and a propane truck shut down traffic in Auburn, near Seattle, Washington for more than three hours Monday afternoon.

The auto accident took place at about 3:15 p.m. along Lakeland Hills Way at A Street Southeast. A propane truck headed west on Lakeland Hills had brake problems and struck the minivan, which was carrying a woman and two children.

There were no injuries, the Auburn Fire Department reported. The truck, which rolled onto its side, did not lose any of its 2,800 gallons of propane.

Crews were able to stabilize the pressure inside the tank before removing it from the scene.
